an artist with deep roots in education and wilderness leadership, Amy has spent her life examining relationships through art: relationships to self, to each other, and the earth.

she lives and works out of Idaho Springs, Colorado in the little mountain house with the yellow door, elevation 7,526 ft., 45 minutes from downtown Denver.  she holds a BA in Visual Art and an M.Ed. in Art Education.  Her work traverses layers of story within the human experience; attempting to reconcile and navigate within the extremes: sacred. profane. manmade. environmental. solitary. connected. frenetic. stoic. abstract. realistic. literal. metaphorical. liquid. solid. beautiful. repulsive. light. shadow. fear. courage. serendipity. orchestration. construction. truth. 

Amy’s work frequently begins in energetic, visceral, fluid focused layers that slow into fine secondary details.  the questions she is asking are in the tensions between the layers …  

who are you and what kind of self or world do we aspire to create?
what is it to be human and how do we proceed?  
between you and I. we are different, but we are the same.
