Layers of mess. Mess I put on a paper that’s no longer in my head. It is a trillion marks of hurt. An attempt to turn hardship into something else. Something better. It is a struggle on paper - struggle for lines in the right direction and the right values to represent form correctly, for perseverance and trust in the process, in pushing through the ugly phase in the middle. It is one Sunday’s hours of work … It is a meditation in mark making. It feels like success through effort. It is a slot canyon. It is all the feels they conjure. It is done. And that feels good.
